mike777
How is oz one doing? Did they win the NOT today? What is up with Marston and Klinger and not winning? Just asking ;)
the hog
Final result: NobleB Noble, G Bilski, T Brown, P Gue, M Prescott, P Marston 150 BrogelandB Brogeland, E Erichsen, P Gill, L Stern, R Grynberg, D Stern 178 Both teams contain a sponsor of questionable ability. Noble is poor and the Sterns a bit better, but nowhere near top rank. B Brogeland, E Erichsen, P Gill are all excellent players. Result does not surprise as I think a number of players in Oz One are very flakey, so not unusual not to make the final.
mike777
ok why are not marston and klinger playing on stronger sponser teams? I understand oz...one has several level of players but the goal is too win the world champ yes? Did I miss Hans somewhere? Are these players the best or very close to the best for Aust? Just asking. the hog
Sartaj Hans is in Oz one - ok, but nothing special. Nunn will be very good. Z Nagy, I Del'Monte, V Demuy, T Nunn, are goodB Richman is very flakey.rdk's (Klinger), current pd is very ordinary - I don't know why he is playing with him. hrothgar
Not sure what Klinger has to do with anything. He's not part of the OzOne project, nor was he on any of the teams in the finals. Indeed, only one of the pairs on "Noble" is part of the OzOne. Still, nice to see that Noble managed a (partial) comeback. Things were looking quite grim when I went to bed. KiwiBridge
Z Nagy, I Del'Monte, V Demuy, T Nunn, are goodB Richman is very flakey. This is the same Richman who is the top masterpoints winner of all time in Australia? Watched Del'Monte - Demuy have a horror set on Vugraph in the quarter finals (24-62) in 16 boards - was a real shocker.
Cascade
I think Oz One is named because they have one member who is Australian ... Ishmael del Monte - New ZealandVince Demuy - CanadianPaul Marston - New ZealandMichael Prescott - New ZealandBobby Richman - USAZoltan Nagy - Hungarian (My guess. I should have done better research)Sartaj Hans - Indian (I think)Tony Nunn - token Australian

the hog
Yes Wayne, Zolly is originally Hungarian, and Hans is from India. Incidentally the Aust Bridge Fed may well be in a bit of strife over changed team line ups for the play offs for international trials. A little birdey told me that they may be sued.
