gnasher
2♦. I like partner to be able to bid sensibly opposite a 3rd-hand opening at the one-level, so my openings aren't very different from in first seat. Two-bids are different. Like Apollo81, I'd like to have ♦10, but you have to work with what you were given.
the hog
you have to work with what you were given. I agree. Pass. Just realised, this thread is over a year old. What's up, Han?
han
Ah yes, you are right.
ArtK78
I mentioned in another thread that many in this Forum open the bidding anytime they hold 13 cards. This is another case in point. (I bet they would open a strong 2♣ if they held 14 cards).

It's funny, I was reading this, and I saw pleighton's comment and I thought this was really old LOL. I still pass by the way, but my reason is that I think there is a reasonable chance this will get passed out, and bidding just makes it easy for them to bid their majors. 2♦ is a 2nd choice, not 1♦, but 2♦ randomizes the results. mikeh
I would open 2♦. I am just not going to sit there and let the opps have all the space they need when they hold the majors. Ok... so partner was 5-5-1-2 with a bad hand. Next.
dake50
1H. Any seat, any scoring.
skjaeran
Normally a clear pass. Under some circumstances I might chose something else, of course. No idea why this thread was reopened....
