hrothgar
Well, I've almost recovered from a truly abysmal showing in yesterday's Indy: Might as well post what I consider some of the more interesting hands: [hv=d=e&v=n&s=skj8hq874daj4ckt5]133|100|Scoring: MP[/hv] You open 1♣ in second seat. The auction continues 1♣ - 1♥2♥ - 3♣??? Whats your bid?

Winstonm
3N seems such an obvious choice it must be wrong.
cherdano
3N seems such an obvious choice it must be wrong. That sounds about right.
uday
I'd reject the game try, if that is what it is, with 3H, and I'd like to reject it with 2H. I see a flat hand, no source of tricks, 8 losers, and 9/14 points in our short suits ( spades, diamonds); we're in MP and I wouldn't mind protecting the plus, nor would I mind being wildly anti-field if I have a decent chance of being right. Am I being too conservative? Maybe P is making a GT that is based on a non-existent double fit. He didn't try with 2N, so the offsuit honors are not going to combine with much that is useful. geller
I'm also a 3NTer. I have 14 HCP (albeit of somewhat dubious quality) and pard made a game try (maybe a slam try). If the latter 3NT should keep pard out of slam. -Bob
pclayton
auto 3N. Not a problem.
P_Marlowe
Hi,I decided to bid 3H (... I passed the 3H invite),I dont think that 3C is different from 3H,but only because we were playing MP.You dont even know, what kind of game try it is. From a LTC point of view, you have a min.opener, ... and if you want to go conservativeplaying MP, this hand is certainly a hand to do it. With kind regardsMarlowe PS: Regarding 3NT, the invite maybe based ondistribution, and even if not, you may play with someone who streches to make an invite with 9-10HCP.
