sceptic
the blue boxes would appear to me to be someosort of barometer gauge, i.e compare how long yours is and how long mine is (damn, I am still a 15 year old at heart) and see how many posts are made also Ben has named the amount of posts reached after a type of food, I would prefer to see the comparisson taken from the Karma sutra, but maybe Ben is a better cook, than he is a (hmmmm better quit while I am ahead here) lol also the warn level I have never seen move from zero on mine, but I think if you overstepped the mark with a moderator, then it would rise and eventually lead to a ban

inquiry
At the left of each post:[*] AKJT3 T9 T9 AK43 - a random Bridge hand - any significance? The more post someone makes, presumably the better hand they get.... first time posters get 432 432 432 5432 or some such. This is under the control of rainIn the beginning the site automatically assigned teh names, beginner poster, novice poster, intermediate poster, advanced poster, expert poster. These terms only reflected the number of post. This pissed off a lot of players as they took offense at the term "novice poster" since they assumed it referred to their bridge ability rather than some random number of post on this site. Rain changed it to a number of things, including food.... the bridge hands seemed the most non=controversial. [*] **** 4 blue boxes - a box for each hundred posts? It is a percentage bar compared to some random number of boxes for the people with the most post. This is under the control of rain. [*] Warn: (0%) ----- 5 pink boxes - smarmalade pots for politeness? You actually can only see your own warning level. People are warned for bad behavior on this site, and then can be barred or have their post reviewed before they are posted. Right now very very few people have a warning level other than 0%. gwnn
how come some posters can change their custom name and others can't?
inquiry
how come some posters can change their custom name and others can't? No one can change their own name. In the beginning, users were allowed to choose their user name. Then the spam bots found this sight, and we were getting ads for a large variety of sexually-oriented products being posted by "new members". Uday decided to link the users enrolled here to usernames on the gaming site. As a result, a few people wanted to change to their own line names, so we changed it for them. Another wanted to change their name here to something more appropriate, so again we helped them out. The adminstrators can change names if a good reason is given. Finch
how come some posters can change their custom name and others can't? You can change your 'custom member title' (currently the bridge hand) once you are over some number of posts - it comes up as an option in the profile setting
