awm
I'd like to see more comparisons for hands in the MBC. Especially for IMP boards, there are so many active tables that it'd be relatively quick to get 32 or 64 tables playing each board instead of just 16. This would tend to reduce the impact of weird outlier scores; too often it seems that there are one or two pairs doing something bizarre on a board (like passing it out when one hand has 20 hcp, or bidding 7NTXX) and that these actions have a big effect on the IMP "payout" for other players. Some of these scores are bogus (people doing things ethically dubious) and some are legitimate, but in any case it'd be nice to have the scores better reflect "average" results and more comparisons would help with this. Obviously in the course of a long match this would probably tend to cancel out (unless more of the outliers come from E/W or N/S pairs than the other direction, which is possible but not obviously the case). But for any particular board the scores are pretty random with the current small number of comparisons.
bid_em_up
I agree and would like to see this as well.
1eyedjack
Thirded. This is a popular and oft repeated request.
uday
The problem is that allowing for more than 16 comparisons in the main bridge club is apparently a nontrivial task for the BBO program we run on our desktops. In the past, Fred G ( the developer) has suggested that this would be more work than we realize.
