Cascade
Sorry, inaccuracy - hands in the bidding get passed out OCCASIONALLY when the opps' bidding is set to either "programmed", or "host-controlled", without me getting a bidding box - the rate seemed about 1 in 5, not all the time as the statement seemed to imply.... Thanks for your enthusiasm about the new version. All kinds of weird things can happen in PartnershipBidding if a new client and an old client are partners. Do you know if any of the problems you reportedhappen when both partners have new clients? Fred GitelmanBridge Base Inc.www.bridgebase.com I had problems when I was using multiple log-ins with the new client to test it out. I didnt get any host bidding. Wayne Sorry - it never occurred to me to allow a host whowas not a player to bid for EW. I can see how this could be useful. I will see what Ican do about including this in the next version (whichrates to be out within a day or 2). Thanks Wayne - good thinking as usual! BEBAS
The next version of the BBO program, Version 3.5.3, is available. Please note: a) This is not the official release; it is a pre-release version, and we're hoping you'll help us find all the remaining bugs. When we're ready, we'll automatically update each customers version of BBO as they login. :) Do not download this version if you are not familiar with computers, are going to have problems backing out to the prior version, or are going to be annoyed if you find a bug. c) The readme is at http://www.bridgebase.com/beta353/readme.txt d) If you want to preserve the older version, rename c:bridge base onlinenetbridgevu.exe to something like oldver.exe and use this to login with 3.5.1 e) Report issues with the beta in the forums...we've setup a beta353 thread in Bridge Base Forums / Bridge Base Online Discussion / Suggestions for the Software f) The upgrade is at www.bridgebase.com/beta353/bbo_update.exe g) The full setup is at www.bridgebase.com/beta353/bbo_setup.exe

Fred GitelmanBridge Base Inc.www.bridgebase.com Tested with a new-client partner; none of the bugs [pass-out or weird bids] occurred; still, when alerting opps' bidding we ddin't manage to get the alert explained [fuction button for entering explanation was locked].Would be great if a non-playing host could do the opps' bidding - s/he'd be in a better position to imagine some sane alternatives! :)

The "non-playing host" cannot bid problem is on theserver end. It will get fixed before too long. I will look into the alert problem you mention. uday
Definitely a bug that allows enemies of hosts to join tourney, when host is using 3.5.3 I think one workaround might be to save the enemies list to a file ( software supports this) and use this file to EXCLUDE users when creating a tourney. On the other hand, if you dont care much, best to just wait - i will fix this in a couple of days once i am thru w/my current project
Rain
On Teaching tables: The features have been enhanced, but I'm not sure how to : 1)change dealer--right now it seems like north is always dealer, can't change that. 2)Not sure how to input the hands for a few boards anymore..it just seems a bit unintuitive now. Must I preselect the no. of boards I want? Can't just add as I wish? The help file is now outdated... 3)I preset 3 hands as a test. After the first board, the movie was different. The board that was unplayed disappeared, and the newly played board took its place. Think a help file is needed here :D Rain

When you create a set of deals (using theNew button in Movie window) you specifythe range of board numbers. The Add buttonin the movie window creates a new (blank)deal at the end of the list. The host of a teaching table will see a buttonnear the top of the Movie window that is a toggle between "show your deals" and "showthis table". Use this to switch between thsdeal file that you uploaded and the movies that were generated from play at the tableyou are at. Yes, the documentation needs updating :) For now, best to ask me if you have morequestions. I am about to leave for a tournamentand I am not be able to respond to e-mail(or forums posts) until I get home on Jan 1.
