pbleighton
You might have upgraded your hand on the previous round (or might nor, I'm not saying you made the wrong bid). Now you must pass. Peter
Guest Jlall
Kx of spades is not enough to induce me to double them. pass.
cherdano
The decision is between double and pass, not sacrifice or pass. Against opponents who might be on a 4-3 fit in this auction ("always bid 2x against a strong club"), I would double. Ok I may be exaggerating, but down 3 would certainly be possible against some. Against sane opponents, I would probably pass.
jdeegan
:P Pass. Sounds like the high cards are about evenly split, so we probably (to put it mildly) have no makable game contract to protect. Can we beat them? Competent opponrnts may have bid a reasonable game. Will I be surprised to go plus 150? Not particularly.
gwnn
Yea, you're absolutely right. At the moment 4NT seemed to me like a good bid. Next time I'll think again before trying to "sac" opposite my strong strong p (and posting obvious situations as polls). I heard them bidding to make. But that's no reason to assume they WILL. helene_t
Agree with Peter. If you want to bid, do it while you're still at a reasonable safe level. Btw, as it happens there were 19 total tricks. So bidding would have been right if either contract makes and the other was two down. But it could have been worse.
