There are hands where I'd bid 2♠ with a 3 card suit, but this isn't one of them. The fact that you list 2N leads me to believe that partner has a 4=1=3=5 hand or some such. Maybe a 3=2=3=5. However, I think that 2N has more way's to lose than win. Pass has some appeal at MPs, but I'm not inflicting this on my team mates... Anyhow, 2♠ with this 3 card junk is out of the question since PD has two opportunites to bid ♠ allready and didn't. 2NT is not my preference with a good 4 card ♦ suit and 3 card ♣ suit headed by the 8. Scrambling 2N doesn't help, since Ill never know if pard has 4C or 5C. 2S isn't a consideration: I expect pard to balance with 5 bad ones or 4 good ones. Don't ever expect 5 good spades, pard wouldve overcalled initially. As a matter of fact, pards hand is kind of an enigma, because the opps probably don't have 23-24, and pard has short hearts, so it needs to be something like a 3244 9 count.
