download new version

I am currently using Version 4.8.3 and have tried many times to upgrade to 4.9.9. But cannot, evertime it just downloads 4.8.3. I know there is a newer version because it is discussed in the forum. HELP.

 

Also, I use Internet Eplorer 7, would this make any difference to the speed that I can downoad the names and table list? It can sometimes take me 30 mins or more just to sit at a table. What am I doing wrong?

483 is the latest official version

 

499 is the latest test version. It will be released officially soon.

Are you saying it takes 30 mins to login? A login can involve downloading nearly a megabyte of data but 30 mins is still far too long. It should take a few seconds on broadband, and presumably a min/two on dialup

 

What sort of connection do you have ?

i have broadband- 2Mb line

yes it can take a long time, first to load the names list, then the table list, then to wait for a response from the server to sit at a table.

 

I did not used to have any problems until I upgraded to Internet Explorer 7. I have same problem on my laptop. PC has Norton, laptop has no virus checker at the moment. Not beyond any firewall.
