mcphee Posted November 20, 2006 Report Share Posted November 20, 2006 I would elect to open 1H and reverse in S even though it is a tad skinny. I can live with 2D as a response to 1H, also thin. I can not accept responder bidding 3NT rather than 4H. The good S cards suggest 4H has a far better play than 3NT. The prime cards in the minors should help ward off the punch should we have a S or trump to lose but will be fatal in 3NT should partner not have a C honor card. gwnn Posted November 20, 2006 Report Share Posted November 20, 2006 1♥-2♦!(GF)-2♠(reverse with 5-4 normally, I play Flannery+strong 4441)-3♦-3♠(6-5)-3NT (sigh). in classical symmetric relay: 2NT(11-15 (or 10-14) 55+ maj.)-long pause for thinking, but probably pass. i'm not content with my club stops. 3♠ is another alternative, invitational with spades.
