How much is this hand worth? How would you bid with SAYC stayman and transfers available? How would you bid with these agreements:Stayman and transfers. Every hand with a 5 card major and at least invitational strength must start with transfer. HeartA
Do you have the method to tell pd that you have 5/6 spades and 4 hearts if pd responds 2D over your Stayman? if so, bid 2C and treat spades as a 6-carder. Otherwise, transfer with 2H and invite with 3S.
kenberg
NT looks like a trap. An opponent with Axx of spades can shut down our source of tricks. But I think it might play well in hearts and I am not supressing them So given the methods you describe I bid 2H then 3H. This may get us too high but I really don't want to supress the hearts. If partner has as little as Axxx he can duck a heart early, later take the ace and then proceed to cash some winners and ruff some losers. Given my own methods I start 2C and over 2D I bid 2S, showing five spades, four hearts, invitational strength. That's what I have.

whereagles
It's very hard to gauge the club wastage, so I'd just treat this as a GF with 54 majs and bid accordingly.
