Here I was east. Ithink my pard made a mistake biding 2d with 2 points however the questions here are: 1.do you double for penalty this part score with my hand?

2. if you in west seat how you signal for club. 3. after first lead I saw dummy club length is that wrong or good to lead ace and then another club hoping pard to ruff?

Here I was west. whats the best bid after 1s? should my pard bid 5c after i bid 4c? this board we lost 8.6 imps and maybe my mistake to be conservative biding just 4c instead of direct 5c. Where players my level(bil) go wrong in competitive auction and stops before game? evaluating the hand or reading pard hand?

Here I was west again and by the time auction got to me opps find the fit and I think still the auction. Whats the best bid here? After I review board I thought maybe double was better but my pard was pass and both opps bid so whats the chances pard to have something? We lost here another 2.6 imps.

thank you in advance for your advice

On the first hand, I think 2 is reasonable (assuming it's to play and not transfer to ). Yes, partner has a two-count. But consider his hand in 1NT versus 2. In 1NT he could easily take zero tricks. In 2 his hand is a favorite to take three tricks or more. Keep in mind that 2 is a signoff; it doesn't suggest game in any way shape or form. This is similar to an auction where partner opened 1NT -- you'd transfer to hearts with six hearts to the queen and no other cards right? I wouldn't double the 3 partial. While I agree that it appears likely to fail from your hand (you have AK and A and A and maybe another club), it's IMP scoring. You don't double for one-trick sets, because the difference between +50 and +100 is minimal whereas the difference between -140 and -530 is huge. Keep in mind partner hasn't shown much of a hand.

On the second hand I think everyone's bidding is okay. You could push to game with the west cards, but I wouldn't. This is actually a kind of lucky game, needing clubs to break and some way to dispose of the spade losers.

On the third hand I think west should start with double of 2. This keeps hearts in the picture (there could easily be a heart game) and this hand is plenty strong enough to take another call if need be over a club bid from partner. I also think east should bid 4 over 3; he should expect a 5-3 fit and that 4 is a bit "riskier" than 4, but the game bonus makes it a good decision.
