pbleighton
Matchpoints, unfavorable. You have K8-AQ1098-9-AJ872.You open 1H, and it goes P-1S(your P)-2D. Your call? Peter
mike777
3C no problems yet :) Playing good/bad 2nt I choose 3clubs...I could bid 2nt(not natural) if weaker.Partner will expect 0-2 spades in my hand very often.
pbleighton
Mike (and any other 3C bidders), do you consider 3C to be forcing? Peter
flytoox
3C as well. I think it is not forcing but invitational.
mike777
Mike (and any other 3C bidders), do you consider 3C to be forcing? Peter No but extra's. I would say at least 14 hcp and 2 good suits. That means with a game force hand I need to come up something else? Cuebid since I play support x here or 2nt(good/bad) and rebid over forced 3clubs with more?
neilkaz
3♣ non forcing for me, but obviously with more playing strength than a min. If I want to GF I can Q-bid 3♦ if options like good/bad 2NT and/or sup X aren't being played. .. neilkaz ..
Robert
Hi everyone I play both good/bad 2NT and support doubles so 2NT to show a distribution bid 'with less than three spades.' Mike777 If 3C shows 14+HCP and two good suits, what do you do with 17-18HCP?Partner gets to take a view of your bid showing 14-18 with no room to explore. Regards, Robert
HeartA
3C, of course. I would say it is semi-forcing.

Regards, Robert I guess i could cuebid or bid 2nt(good/bad) and rebid showing some max but non game force? In truth I hardly ever have 17-18 nonbalanced game force hands/ on this exact bidding? P_Marlowe
Mike (and any other 3C bidders), do you consider 3C to be forcing? Peter Hi, depends on the meaning of 2NT (good-bad).I play, that the weaker hands get bid direct,i.e. 3C is nonforcing. With kind regardsMarlowe
helene_t
I bid 3♣ which should be stronger than 2NT. I think it's forcing but if partner thinks differently and passes it's probably fine.
whereagles
Well, I'm going to double 2♦ for take-out. There's no certainty of a fit and we're not that strong in this auction. Dbl keeps bidding low and allows pard to select a suit or passing for penalties. In fact, it's a textbook example of a Robson/Segal take-out double.
