Competing Or Not

Mike (and any other 3C bidders), do you consider 3C to be forcing?

Peter

No but extra's.

I would say at least 14 hcp and 2 good suits.

That means with a game force hand I need to come up something else? Cuebid since I play support x here or 2nt(good/bad) and rebid over forced 3clubs with more?

Hi everyone

I play both good/bad 2NT and support doubles so 2NT to show a distribution bid 'with less than three spades.'

Mike777 If 3C shows 14+HCP and two good suits, what do you do with 17-18HCP?

Partner gets to take a view of your bid showing 14-18 with no room to explore.

Regards,

Robert

I guess i could cuebid or bid 2nt(good/bad) and rebid showing some max but non game force?

In truth I hardly ever have 17-18 nonbalanced game force hands/ on this exact bidding?

Well, I'm going to double 2 for take-out. There's no certainty of a fit and we're not that strong in this auction.

Dbl keeps bidding low and allows pard to select a suit or passing for penalties. In fact, it's a textbook example of a Robson/Segal take-out double.
