You are defending NT playing UDCA and hold 9-8-6-5-3-2 and decide that you will pitch twice from this holding while following to a long suit.

Ignore your opinion about whether or not you should transmit information during the hand (so assume you are playing against idiots - or with a smart client :().

You play 'present count'. What two cards will you pitch?

1. The 9 followed by the 8. 9 says I don't like the suit and the 8 says I have an even number left per udca.

2. The 9 followed by the 2. Ditto for the 9, but the 2 says I have an even number left, since present count is standard.

3. The 2 followed by the 9. The 2 says I have an even number and the 9 says I don't like the suit.

4. The 2 followed by the 3. The 2 says I have an even number. Figure out your reason for the 3.

I think this is a lot to do with partnership agreement. Without further discussion than udca, I will throw the 9 (for attitude), then I would throw the 8. However, there is a caveat here b/c the 8 and the 9 could be useful cards, so I might throw the 6 instead. I am not to worried about confusing partner with count as the next time I play it will likely be the 2.
