temp3600
I think the best line is to start working on the heart suit at trick two, both to setup some tricks and to get an idea of how the clubs split. So I lead the H5, and deep finesse agains KJ if East plays low. That way, they can't attack trumps effectively if West takes the trick. And if East plays an honor, I take it with the ace and return a heart. Now two further heart tricks are setup, and I'm in a good position. kenrexford
This may be too simplistic, but I cannot see any compelling reason to not simply approach this as an elopement hand. I'll ruff the diamond, cross to the heart Ace, ruff another diamond (I expect this to not be a problem so far), attempt to cash two top clubs, and continue back and forth with diamonds and clubs. In the wash, I hope to take the first seven tricks (not unreasonable), ending on dummy with KQ85 of trumps in hand, missing the AJ107. The club as my next card cannot be ruffed by LHO. If RHO ruffs low enough for my 8 to score, I have nine tricks. If I see the 10 or J I can overruff and exit a heart. I cannot find a line to not take another spade, with K85, missing the AJ7 (or A107). Similar lines seem available if someone pops in a trump earlier in my cross-ruff.
