I was banned from BBO

Generally, we do not discuss actions taken by taken by bbo against members. Since you have told the world that you are banned, I will try to explain why. The BBO software tracks a number of users actions.

1) is how many people the user boots. If you boot too many people too often, and the software will decide assumes you are being too rude and it will suspend you for a while. Booting the same guy over and over only counts as once.

2) Another is how often others boot you. If you are booted by a lot of different host over a short period of time, the software assumes that you are causing problems (again being rude), and so suspends you.

3) The third one is how often you start playing a board and then, before the hand is finished, you leave the table. do that too frequently and the software will think you are being rude and supsend you account.

All three of these actions occur automatically, and without any human involvement from BBO yellows. The software catches EVERY SINGLE violator who meets minimum requirements for action on these activities without the need for, an in fact without any, human review.

I will not tell you which of these three you violated, but violate one you did. When the suspension is up, the software will allow you to play on the site once again. You can appeal to either abuse or support (don;t remember which one), but both are overworked and almost never overturn such a ban.

The good news, is the ban is for the Main Bridge Room only. You can still play in tournaments, you can still watch bridgeVu, you can still kibitiz, and you can still play in private clubs. There are some suspensions where you can not do all or any of these, but in your case, you can.

The best solution is to avoid activities listed above (1 to 3) that will cause problems. Note, IT IS OK to boot players. It is OK to stop in the middle of play (emergency, disconnect, etc). Just don't do a lot of it over short periods of time. I don't know how many or how short, but people get disconnect all the time during play and boot rude butt heads from their tables without the sanctions beign enforced. In fact, you almost have to go out of yoru way and TRY to trip the automatic suspensions to get these short bans.
