I would like to see ALL player be required to post what systems/conventions they REALLY can play as they register on BBO :- or maybe before they can actually PLAY on BBO after they reg ?? ::) NOT sure what the system can regulate ???

All of us get annoyed when other players definition of system XYZ differs from our own.

Sadly, there is no good soluton to this problem. Creating a specious requirement that players

post the systems that they "REALLY can play" won't matter one bit. It would, however, be annoying.

Individuals are notoriously bad at self assessment.

You aren't going to be able to fix human nature with a technical "quick fix"

Well there is nothing wrong with having a general system approach in your profile.... I always get a big kick when someone I don't know asks me which system I prefer (Trust me it happens OFTEN) and I just list my preferred conventions in my profile. I find this solution to be practical as hell..

When someone sits down with me I say "look at my profile and tell me what you want to change... I'm flexible" and the entire discussion takes 1 minute. I wish more people took my approach but thats me.

Also, I use the notes feature to keep track of whatever changes a partner prefers making so I can remember next time. As soon as people sit down to play vs. us I tell them we are playing my profile plus/except whatever conventions we have added or changed.

I personally like the OKB 2/1 standard convention card.

I sit down, say "pd...full okb 2/1"...they say "yes" and

in 5 seconds I'm done. The problem with BB-advanced

is that it has got stuff on it that many people don't know.

Moreover, there is nothing on okb 2/1 that I object to

but a couple thing on bb-advanced that I just don't like.

Nevertheless, I still play to learn bb-advanced fully so

that I can avoid long system discussions with new

partners.

I have also played on OKB and have seen people say OKB2/1, and then when we start playing they have no idea what the system is they said they wud play. Just tell at start, they few things y wanna play, most of y only sit down with a pd for about 5 or 6 hands and then leave because pd generally not good enough or something like that, or vice versa. If y actually manage to sit down longer a basic system shud be good enough.I f y start a longlasting pdship then y can go on, everything is just a waste of time. :)
