SoTired
I make a lite neg dbl. I want more strength for a 3-level neg dbl, but since I am short in clubs, I stretch a little. Switch my clubs and diam and I pass.
joker_gib
Clear Double imo Yes, ♦K and ♥A = very good cards and associated with ♣ shortness, it makes a clear Dbl imho. If you pass, don't you have the feeling that you don't have bid your hand ? Alain

neilkaz
You have 10 support points for the two unbid suits, so I'll make a neg double. If my 7 hcp was quacky, I'd pass here.
pclayton
This is a very tough problem. To make a negative double at the 3 level, I look at my hand and determine if I would make a limit raise opposite pard's (presumed) major. I probably would with this hand if I catch a spade fit, but not if pard's suit is hearts. What happens all too often is that LHO raises clubs and pard bids 4 major with any hand with a 4 card major (wouldn't you)? Frequently, pard has a weak NT - something like: KJx, Axxx, Axxx, xx. So I pass.
whereagles
It's not a certainty LHO will bid 4♣... And even if he does, there's still the chance pard's 4M bid to have extras. I think passing is too pessimistic, so I dbl.
