This seems to indicate: (1) The 1NT opening is faring remarkably badly. Perhaps this is due to playing weak NTs at vulnerable? One other thought: Its been a while since I saw Dr Todd play, however, I seem to recall that he played a fairly standard weak 1NT opening. Simply put, his opponents have much more experience with this method than any of the other stuff that he is playing. It wouldn't surprise me if they are able to score better against it. Well, "fairly standard" if you are the kamikaze NT type :D -- the range was actually 9-13 at any vul and denies a 4 card major unless 4333. It's probably a little better than it sounds vul. because it's 1st and 2nd seat only and some quacky hands and / or hands w/o 2 controls are systemically downgraded to a fert opening...
