bah... how do you spell "septemdecim" in the way they want??

with one more "n" and one fewer "m", if I recall

I ran into the same confusion. I found the spelling they wanted by doing a google search, and ended up at another forum where people were talking about this puzzle!

So are there really two ways to say seventeen in Latin, or did the English-to-Latin translation page I went to just get it wrong?

Evil Gerardo has given another puzzle.

http://deathball.net/notpron/

This one looks evil, and I got to level 3 only!!! can't get past that, and I've given up. All the best to any fearless adventurer who wishes to attempt this.

=P

Yes this is MUCH more like it.

Level 4 is holding me up.

[EDIT - belay that, we're off again]

Check your geographical knowledge about Europe and mark on the map 39 european capitols so precise you are able to do.

this site is in german, but I think it's no problem, because the names of captiols & countries are similar as in english.

on the right margin of the site you will find the button START

have fun :)

PS.: my total score = 3981 km B)

Anybody solved it without the help of your friend (google)? I needed it for a lot of steps, actually.

I have to admit that I made heavy use of google and ask.com. I considered this to be what the puzzle is about -- knowing the right questions to ask, like "Who was the 16th president" or how to find a periodic table of the elements online. Only a total savant could have all the lists and languages memorized.

Particularly as my first response to "acht" was "negen".

I got it right at the second attempt.

It's a bit sad that my positioning for London was 42.70 kilometers out, and I live there. :D
