mike777
Here is an email hand from Texas KO event against a very good team. "I held: Jx AKQJxx Qxx AK The auction was 1H-P-1NT-P-??. I chose the wrong rebid. What would you rebid? Or maybe some of you would open something other than 1 heart perhaps?"
pbleighton
4H. 3NT appeals as a clever bid, but I seem to be unlucky when I bid cleverly. Peter

Gives the best chance to find a spade stopper
mikeh
I'm pretty sure I would rebid 3N in a normal partnership... but with an established partner, I use 3♣ here as either natural, gf, or huge ♥ gf... partner usually bids 3♦ to ask, and now 3♥ gives us a chance at either game with less (but not zero) guesswork
HeartA
Too strong to rebid 3N. I would open 2C, but 1H is close. If, for some reason, I opened 1H, I would rebid 3C then 4H (or 3N)
Codo
I dislike to lie with 3 CLub and I dislke 3 NT because of the short spades. So I bid 4 Heart now.And I had opened this as an 8 trick hand with 2 Club.
whereagles
oh no, not another "how to bid a strong 2 in sayc" hand..

The danger of bidding 3♣ with a greenhorn is that I may be propelled into 5♣ or 6♣against my will.

In this case your partner has a little over 10,000 pts...not sure if that is greenhorn status in Texas?
