Wow. Played the ACBL tourney (matchpoints) yesterday and saw 3 6-6's our way in the first five boards.

Brian had the first: AQT98x, void, Q8xxxx, T. Pass on his right. He tried 4 and bought: K6x, KQJ, K, Kxxxxx. lead to the A, 5, 10, J, K. Now what?

I had the next two: AQJTxx, x, void, AKQJxx. You open 1, 2 on left, pard passes, 3 on right. Now what?

The NEXT hand (same opps): void, KQJxxx, x, AKxxxx. 1 on right. Your call?

#1: I might have tried playing A first to try leading a towards the K. If that loses and another comes back, win in hand again, ruff on board, then dumping a if it's not covered.

The plan is to score 6 in hand, 2, 1 and one ruff on board.

#2: 4 for now...a direct 6 might goad opps into a phantom sack

#3: 2N: Ununsual 2N showing the two lowest unbid suits

Run K discarding club and later ruff high (as high as you can, that is ). Making 6 spades, 2 hearts, 1 diam, 1 ruff.

6. No methods available to take the guess out of it, so I'll just bid a slam makes in many layouts.

If I have unusual 2NT available, I'll use it. Then drive to the 5-level all by myself. If 2NT is not available, I'll bid 3 and later 4/5.
