I'll let you bid it with your favourite partner.

I opened a strong club and relayed to 6 after a bit of a misbid by partner.

Anyway, I thought it interesting that...

In your 8 card spade fit, game is the limit.

In your 7 card heart fit, the small slam is best.

In your 6 card diamond fit, grand is quite good.

With relays I can't find out if partner has T as well, so grand in is a blind guess (unless you think 4 tophonours in a 5-1 fit are enough). North will know about AQxxx-x-AKQxx-xx, so 6 has the best chance of making.

It doesn't help if South is relayer: he can't find out if partner has J...

Our team-mates bid to 7H after an Acol 2H opening from North. They suggested an auction after the fact to bid to 7D but it wasn't very convincing.

Our opponents played in 6H after a gentle start to the auction of 1H-1S-3H.

We bid to 6NT, on the slightly crude auction

2[1] : 3[2]

3 : 3

3N : 5N

6 : 6N

[1] Trebuchet, showing a weak 2 in diamonds, an Acol 2 in a major, or any 23+ point or game forcing hand

[2] Diamond positive (asking partner to bid 5 with the weak hand and game-forcing opposite any strong hand)
