mike777
[hv=d=e&s=sqj8haj965dk82caq]133|100|Scoring: IMP1c=1h1s=2d3c=?[/hv] This is an old famous deal. In real life both pairs were playing a strong club system so the bidding was very different. Assuming 2/1 bidding here what do you bid now? plaur
3NTPartner can be 4-2-2-5. 2♦ GF 4sf followed by 3NT shows extra values, slam invite. Partner can go on if she has extras.
HeartA
4NT or 4C.
kenrexford
3♦, but only if very established partnership. 3♣ should be 6-card. If not, partner will lose interest. 3♦, in any event, should be a cue in support of clubs, in case partner has 4126. I make no further moves that are not purely cooperative, though. So what do you do with 5 hearts and 13 points? Can you not play 3N after 4th suit GF anymore, or can you not try to find a 5-3 heart fit after 1C-1H-1S? whereagles
I suspect pard has extras, but I don't have anyway to ask for that without messing up the bidding. 3NT thus.

whereagles
hum.. I gotta get a bit more aggressive. It's the 3rd slam I miss in a row in these BBO forum problems.. lol.
joshs
3D. This is a punt. It shows something in diamonds (but may just be 3 small), but that you are not sure that 3N is the right spot. If partner bids 3N you actually like your hand a lot, since the D K is now working, and partner is 4126 shape. Opposite a minimum hand like AKxx x Qx Kxxxxx you can make 6C. So over 3N you should bid 4C next, and push a lot in the direction of slam. If partner bids 3H, your values are a bit less certain. I would bid 4C over that as well, but not try as hard (4C and then 5C over 4S but a more agressive bid over 4H).
Finch
Italy were quite a long way behind before this set, if I remember, and 7C was bid based on trying to make up ground. 6NT is hardly a contract of beauty, either.6C, on the other hand....
