Is there any way to load specific hands into the "partnership bidding" section fpr lessons?

 

An example of what I mean. A student held AKQxx-x-xx-KQxxx and opened 1♠. After I raised, she passed, of course making 4♠.

 

I would like to illustrate the value of 5-5 hands by having a series of hands where, for example, Opener holds AKQxx-xxx-xx-KQx, AKQxx-xx-xx-KQxx, etc., and where Responder holds a flat hand with the diamond Ace, the club Ace, the Heart Ace, the heart or club King, etc.

 

Or, to show the importance of pulling trumps, I'd like to set up hands with four small opposite four small, or Ace-third opposite five small, stuff like that.

 

How possible is this?

Create the hands in PBN or Lin format. If in PBN, then open with netbridgeVu which will covert the file to lin file format.

 

Open the partnership table

 

Click on "movie" and open the lin file with the lesson hands

 

Point to the first hand in the movie and press the "send" button. The hand will be loaded....

 

A couple of "Gotcha". You have to send each hand, in turn by going back to the movie and press send again. The first hand sent (if it is the first hand played), dealer is north. The second hand sent, East is the dealer, etc. So if you wanted North to open alll the hands, you can see the problem One solution is to force everyone to pass and tell north they are the dealer if north has an opening hand. The other solution is next deal button unti back to norths turn to bid, then use the send button again.

I think one way to make North open every hand would be to edit the .lin file with a text editor (eg Wordpad) so that the dealer represented by the number 1,2,3 or 4 after md| is always 3 =North

 

Eg

 

qx|o|md|3ST5H985DT65CAK843,SK62HAQ764DAJ98C2,SA987HKJDK73CQT97|sv|0|pg||

 

The dealer for this hand is Noth.

 

Also if you want to edit the vulnerability - just change the character after |sv|

 

0= none

n = NS

b= All
