kaninunge
I like the new feature of being able to sign up for a tourney while still in another tourney, but an important modification is needed: Today I wanted to sign up for a tourney using the partnership desk, and with only a few minutes to spare before the tourney began, I found my "perfect match" :) (or so I thought). Unfortunately, my new partner was in a tourney that had 2 1/2 boards to go, and I missed my tourney :) My suggestion is simple: allow people who are playing in a tourney to put their name on the partnership desk list only for tourneys that will start _after_ their current tourney is over. No player can be in 2 places at once ;) -Ramona
golfacer
That modification is a good idea in theory, but I do not think it is practical to use. Many directors add a lot of extra time in the last round. I would not like to not be allowed to use the partnership desk for a tournament starting in 16 minutes if I am playing the last board and there are 20 minutes on the clock. I hate the fact that some players will accept an invitation although there is no chance that he/she will be able to play. I suggest that anyone who finds a partner at the partnership desk to see if the partner is playing another tournament and if the partner can finish soon enough. If it is any consolation, someone who is so careless or inconsiderate to commit without being able to play will not truly be your perfect match. :)
jillybean
Another problem with people registering when they are playing in other tournaments, team matches, teaching table hosts etc is that the player/pair are not removed by the “unregister offline teams” function. A tournament can start with any number of unavailable pairs who are only dropped when the tournament starts - while other players are left on the partnership desk. I always wondered why my 30 table tournaments start with only 28 tables at times! :) jb
kaninunge
At the very least, the "Partnership Desk" should mark players who are currently playing in another tourney as such, just like those that are offline are marked as such. -Ramona
