pclayton
1. A♦, ♠ to A and ruff a club. Now Q♠, ♠ to K. If trumps are 4-1, pray clubs are 4-4 and take heart pitches ASAP. If trumps are 3-2, try the clubs. if 4-4, you are cold and have a red suit squeeze for 13. If clubs are 5-3 with WEST holding the long one, hmmm, I gotta think about this. The count isn't rectified for a double, so you might have problems here. If East holds the long club, I think you are reduced to a diamond break or guessing the ♥. 2. This one would make Eddie Kantar squirm. 9 off the top and chances in three suits. I think the best line, but would like to hear from others is: A♦, club, club and a ruff. If the Queen drops doubleton (wishing....), you can pitch both spades and play hearts for 3 tricks. If the Queen drops 3rd, take one spade pitch and play hearts for 4 tricks. If the Queen doesn't drop, youre reduced to A♠ on and hearts coming in.
