Suggestion for tourney partnership desk

Recommended Posts

When I sign up for a tourney using the partnership desk, I usually want to discuss carding and conventions with my new partner. :D Unfortunately, it's quite a hassle to message my partner. 1st, I have to go back to the BBO directory, 2nd I have to click over to the initial of my new partner's handle, 3ed I have to find it among the table of names, and only then can I send a message

My suggestion is simple: When 2 players meet in the partnership desk, BBO could send a simple text message to each like the ones when a "friend" logs in. That way, I could click on my partner's name instead of going through steps 1-4 above ;)

Thanks,

Ramona

In the PD: you can click on a name and send him a message.

If you do this before inviting the person to play, you'll be able to right click his name in the chat window and mark him as a friend or send another chat.

If that doesnt work I'll consider another chat message to each half of the partnership (when the pair has been created)

Messaging the potential partner is a good idea. I'll try it when I ask a person who is already on the "looking for a partner" list.

However, when I add my name to the "looking for a partner" list, and someone asks me to be their partner, I'm then back to following steps 1-4 above :) .

Thanks for the suggestion, and it well help about 1/2 the time :) .

So I've tried out your suggestion again, uday.

I messaged a player and then clicked the button to ask her/him to be my partner. The message showed up clearly (this is good), but the player said "no", and I felt like a fool for it. But if I ask a player to be my partner 1st and she/he accepts, then the name is gone and the quick messaging opportunity is gone.

Your suggestion works only if 1) I'm willing to make a fool of myself by saying 'hi' to a complete stranger before I know if she/he will be my partner, and 2) if I do the inviting (as opposed to putting my name on the 'looking for a partner' list and waiting for someone to invite me).

Thanks,

Ramona
