penguinland
I'd like to create my own .lin files by hand, and have been able to cobble some together by editing older files. However, I can't seem to find any formatting specification online that describes exactly how to make a .lin file (for instance, I still don't know what goes inside the qx|...| part. I believe this information is out there, since other people have been able to write programs that convert .lin files to .pbn and back again. Where can I learn about these file formats? Thanks very much!
fred
We don't give this information out to the general public. No doubt it is available somewhere, but we don't want it posted in a public forums. If you want more information I suggest you send me an e-mail (fred@bridgebase.com). KittyC
It would make more sense for you to create a PBN file. Bridge Base will display these as will many other programs. The PBN format is fully documented and many tools that use them can be found here at the PBN homepage
DenisO
It would make more sense for you to create a PBN file. Bridge Base will display these as will many other programs. Not only will Bridgebase display them (open with NetbridgeVu.exe), it converts to lin format and leaves you a new .lin file on your hard drive. This is the technique I use mainly for preparing the lin files of the great Bermuda Bowl matches from the past - all available at Nikos Sarantakos's excellent site: http://www.sarantakos.com/bridge/vugraph.html Denis
