jmg1bbo
Reposted (from BB product support forum): I created a BridgeBaseOnline ID over a year ago, "jmg1"and had not used it since. Tuesday, I downloaded and updatedmy BBO software and tried to login and got the followingmessage popup:"Your log in request has been refused.User {Name deleted by system administrator} has been barred until 2006-09-14 15:02:28Reason: Contact abuse@bridgebase.com" I sent a note asking for help to abuse@bridgebase.comlast night but got no response, so I tried your forums. Itried to login using "jmg1" but it did not work, so I reregisteredas "jmg1bbo" and I could log in to the forums, but no one elsehad described the same problem (searched on {name deleted by system administrator}). 7-27 question: Is a forum ID the same as a BBO ID used to play bridge? Given the newly registered ID, confirmed after receiving theemail and usable enough so that I could log on to the forums,I tried to use NetBridgeVu again, but got the same errormessage. I checked my firewall (Norton Internet Securityand there are rules permitting NetBridgeVu to access theInternet and I added a special rule for access via port 9999to bbo.bridgebase.com (as on the install or FAQ page), butstill no dice. Can you please help? I'd like to try playing at BBOagain, so would appreciate your help. Thank you. 7-27 followup: I think somehow my ID / email address / computer are errroneously on your ABUSE list. I uninstalled and reinstalled and could not connect, nor add "jmg1" or "jmg1bbo" as "New Member" without getting the same popup error. I am on Windows XP, downloaded level was 4.7.5 (if I recall correctly). -- Jesse Edited July 27, 2006 by inquiry
inquiry
Hi jesse, Let's start with a few quick answers. 1. No you don't have to use the same name here as on the gaming site. It is helpful to others if you do, as they will get to know you through your post. 2. The person you mentioned (I have edited it out of the public messages, so please stop using it) is banned by the BBO. The computer thinks you may be him and will ban you until you discuss with abuse or support and get it straightened out. This is made more difficult because I can find no record of you logging in a year ago as jmp1. Please write abuse and be patient... you may want to use all you bbo aliases in the message. Double !
I have a similar problem, and would appreciate help. I have been invited to play in certain games/ tourneys, but have been advised that i can not be registered as "Double !" because my screen name has a now illegal character in it, specifically the "!". I have been unsuccessful in my attempts to either log in under any other screen name including trying to create a new one, and have repeatedly received the message stating that "Double !" is barred until so-and-so date. I do not know how to rectify this problem. I don't want to have multiple screen names. If nothing else, i would just like to generate a second screen name that doesn't contain any "illegal characters" for the purposes of playing in some tourneys. (Or find some way that the people running the tourney can register me despite the "illegal character".) I would appreciate guidance re how to address this problem.Thanx in advance, DHL
