bbohlin
My friend has an old Windows 98 box with USB connection (not ethernet) to a DSL modem. Internet Explorer works fine but BBO seems can't find the connection. Does anybody know a solution? Thank you,
mink
I know at least one notebook that is connected to the internet via usb and has Windows 98 installed - and it has been working for at least 2 years now. Karl
erki_
If you have to access BBO through a firewall, the firewall has to be configured to let the program, "NetBridgeVu.exe" access the Internet. Note that the BBO client connects to bbo.bridgebase.com on port 9999 using tcp. from http://www.bridgebase.com/help/2/connections.html

hotShot
If it is "Windows 98" this might be a problem, because USB devices work much better on "Windows 98 2nd Edition" A DSL modem connected to the computer via USB, should be no problem at all. It is possible that the Internet Explorer opens the connection automaticly when trying to acces a website. If you want to use BBO you probably need to open the connection manually. bbohlin
The problem is fixed now. It's firewall issue. Thank you all.
Tola18
Thanks HotShot. So I now know it is possible to proceed. It costs to much to use the modem, and too slow too.
