ArcLight
Slam try - 5-5 in the majors
Limey_p
The title of the thread is Drury. I wonder, does that mean 2♦ is Drury? In any case, I would start with the "game before slam" principle. If 2♦ is drury, you would have an agreement of some sort as to which is the weakest bid, and 3♥ is not it. So I take 3♥ as a long-suit game try. If 2♦ is natural, then 3♥ is a game force, natural by default, or a splinter in support of ♦ if you have that agreement. mcphee
if 2D is a 3 or 4 card drury resonse the 3H jump should be a splinter with slam interest.
adhoc3
Suit or splinter, that is the question....
helene_t
Good question, I never thought about this. If you play this as a splinter after a natural 2♦ by an unpassed hand, maybe it makes sense to play it as a splinter here as well. On the other hand, if you play short suit trials, 2♥ would allready show short hearts so there'll be no need for a splinter.Maybe 3♥ becoes a picture bid then. After a 2♣ response which (presumably) shows 3-card support, it makes sense to rebid a natural 2♥. Then 3♥ could be whatever trial you play. willow23
The system being played is an issue here..I assume a natural system I would take that bid to mean 5-5 in the majors and game going...It is difficult to imagine slam but it may be possible depending on the hand responder holds.. A double fit would be good news  and worth considering.
