..... 1S

1NT-2D

3D-5D

Up to 3D it is entirely clear. West is not good enough for a direct 2H and has to bid 1NT. East is not good enough to jump-shift and should bid 2D. Over 2D west should support diamonds rather than show hearts.

Over 3D it is more difficult. It seem practical just to jump to 5D.

1S - 1NT (yuck, but least lie)

3D* (you got plenty of hand and you know that pard has some minor tolerance) - 5D

1S-1N-2D-3D and then it is a guess for 5D or 3NT at MPs, but at Imps I think 5D makes a bit more often (this hand off course being an exception due to the bad H break)

As opener I need a tad more to force to game with a 3D jump .. neilkaz ..

Dwayne, they are not playing precision.. 3D is way off imo.

I'd jump rebid 3 in any natural method. The stiff Ace of hearts and decent suits are upgrades.

However, I do like Chuck's sporting 3NT rebid, even tho he scarred me for the next month by invoking MC Hammer....I think he needed to "bust a move"...
