han
Soon the fun in Chicago will start. Will you be there? How will I be able to recognize you? I'm male, 29, 6'4 (1m94), weigh 185 pounds (83kg), have light brown hair and shoesize 10.5 (45). I will wear a green, blue or red shirt (that should make it easy!). pclayton
OK, lets talk about a dinner one night with all the BBF folks. I'm arriving Sun 16th late and leaving Sat 22nd. Later in the week would be better I think. Who's in? My cell is 310-486-4774 and Im staying at the Congress.
paulg
My brother and I are arriving late on Friday afternoon (14th) (or evening, depending on the flight) and are staying at the Hyatt Regency. We leave on Sunday 23rd so later in the week will be fine. Paul
Elianna
Adam and I are arriving late on Thursday the 13th, and staying through to the last Sunday. We'd be up for getting together for a dinner or something, but our schedule is getting a little busy with all our relatives! B) We're pretty recognizable: two darkhaired, overweight, youngish looking people. I think that we're fairly recognizable, and Frend seemed to think so, too. :)
fred
Sheri and I will be in Chicago from tomorrow night through the end of the tournament (but we could leave early if my team does poorly in the Spingold). If a dinner or meeting gets organized, please let us know! We will be staying at the Hyatt - you can call our room (but not early in the morning please!) and let us know the details. Hope to meet some of you in person soon. Fred GitelmanBridge Base Inc.www.bridgebase.com
hrothgar
I might be in Chicago for a day or two during Nationals. (Work stuff, not bridge and I probably won't be able to swing by the event). I'm going to report the following: As is my wont, when there are major tournaments coming up in citiesthat I "know", I'm going to provide some dining recommendations. Inthis case, I am going to recommend a pair of Mexican restaurants inChicago that I eat at whenever I get the chance. If anyone isattending Summer Nationals, I can't recommend these enough. Topolobampo is the more high end of the two.The Frontera Grill shares the same kitchen, but is a bit lessexpensive. I'm attaching menus from each http://www.fronterakitchens.com/restaurant...opolo_menu.htmlhttp://www.fronterakitchens.com/restaurant...ntera_menu.html TRUST ME. YOU WANT TO EAT HERE. rbforster
I'll be there from Wed through Sun for the GNTs. I'll probably be the only one juggling too many balls in my spare time between rounds, which should be pretty distinctive. I hope to get a chance to say hi to the West Coast folks . Elianna
Because of circumstances that I don't wish to go into now, Adam and I are missing the first day of the LM pairs, and so are looking for teammates for Saturday for the KO that starts that day. If you're interested, send either of us a private message.
hrothgar
Out of curiousity, did folks ever manage to get a dinner together?
Elianna
Not that I know of (unless Adam and I weren't invited.) I did get to meet Cardsharp. And other posters that I knew before. The people I really wanted to meet were those I haven't met before, though, so I was glad to meet Cardsharp, and sad to miss the others.
