pbleighton
I would not have doubled, with 3-3 in the majors. I would have bid 3C. It's close, though. Now I would pass. Pd's second pass and lack of jump in the third call discourages moving forward in spades. I would double at matchpoints. Peter
han
Partner obviously has a very weak hand, and we don't have a good fit. I'd pass. Like Peter I would have bid 3C last round, and then doubled 3D.
pclayton
I'm fine with the 1st double. Now I'm kind of boxed, but I think a 2nd double is sensible, although I think it tends to show a 3=4=1=5. 4♣ is too much with this hand.
Double !
I would not have doubled, with 3-3 in the majors. I would have bid 3C. Peter i agree partner had a chance to show something in the majors at the 1-level, and didn't do so. 3♣ for me, especially if playing G/B2NT DHL

For us, this wouldn't be g/b for 2 reasons: 1. G/B is only on after 2♥ or 2♠; not 2♦ or 2♣. 2. G/B isn't on after pard makes a pass over the overcall. 2N here is clubs and secondary hearts. P_Marlowe
A) I would have showed my club suit, but Xis certainly okB) Pass Partner is broke, playing MP and if they are red, you may dbl, but it is certainly not clearcut With kind regardsMarlowe
whereagles
A.) It's ok, though 3♣ is good as well. B.) Dbl again.

Even with Bergen book in front of me this seems confusing.
whereagles
Yeah.. unfortunately, there are no 100% clear-cut rules as to when 2NT is good-bad.
