luke warm
I would like to open 3♣ (long story, I will not go there now) and i won't go to my 2♠ opening (5+ spades, 4+ clubs) :)
mikeh
Years ago I lost a Canadian National team trial when I opened 1♠ on AKQxxx void QJ98xx x. After LHO overcalled in ♥ and RHO bid 2N, I ended up in 4♦ doubled for -500. My opponent, with my cards, was Alan Graves and he opened the pragmatic 4♠, got a 5♥ overcall which his partner was delighted to double...-500. Lose 14 imps, lose the match by....14 imps....I wish I could say that the other 71 boards were pushes B) Had my CHO and RHO swapped hands, I would have made (and may well have bid)6♦ or 6♠... so I am not sure what the moral of the story is, but I do know that, since that time, I have become a pragmatic 4♠ bidder on these hands. Apollo81
4♠ seems ok since clubs are weak and spades are very strong. I'd open 1♠ without the ♠10.
