North jumps to 3♠, and you South, reach 6NT after a few bids between you and partner. West leads the ♥Q, you win with the ♥A and play the ♠ ten. West follows with four and East plays the seven. What now? Aside: I found this hand in the book, "Logical Bridge Play" by Hugh Kelsey. The book is supposedly for intermediate players! Winstonm
Looks to me like the only way to make now is on a heart/diamond squeeze, but the problem is getting the timing right. I have to play LHO for no more than two clubs and cash the A and K of clubs before leading the next spade.

I reread Logical Bridge Play a few months ago and instantly recognized it.

inquiry
Triple squeeze.. threat cards in dummy ♥5, ♣J... "extended" threat cards in your hand, ♦AQJ. Cash one high club, and Jettison other ♣ on spades. Of course if they don't return a heart, and instead return CLUB QUEEN to blot out your ♣ threat, you have a normal run of the mill heart/diamond squeeze. hatchett
I will cash one top club and then play a second round of spades assume LHO wins and plays (i) a Heart, I win in dummy and run spades pitching the club King from hand executing a triple squeeze against LHO which repeats because of the extended diamond menace against LHO. (ii) a Diamond gives the contract immediately (iii) a Club/Spade reduces to a simple red suit squeeze against LHO

I have to play LHO for no more than two clubs and cash the A and K of clubs before leading the next spade. I believe this would be correct if we didn't hold the diamond jack, since in that case the line of pitching a club honor lets west release the diamond king and east guard the long diamond.
