jdonn
Everything was dandy until the double. Did north know he had a single trick!??! He is lucky that dummy didn't hit with a doubleton diamond. After the redouble he should have wised up and just taken his lumps in 5♠X. Walddk
The 1♠ overcall is far from being acceptable, but North is the culprit no matter what. 1. He should have bid 4♠ over 2♥.2. Double of 5♥ is ¤¤#!! He doesn't have a single defensive trick. Roland
luke warm
i don't like 2♠ very much and i don't like the double very much, but neither do i like south's 4♠ bid all that much... since nobody mentioned it, it must be an ok bid, though
P_Marlowe
The Dbl by North is garbage. North should know, that his side is defending, he should be contentthat they were pushed one levelhigher, and be content with that. With kind regardsMarlowe
Finch
Like everyone else I'm puzzled as to why North thought 5H was going off.
cherdano
Is this a trick question?
jchiu
Yes, this was a trick question. Someone is starting to figure me out, so I will admit that North was none other than the illustrious GiB. I am not sure whether I could find a human who would make that double. Had I let this secret out of the bag, I surely would have received more than two votes to blame me instead. However, I was playing two-cent rubber bridge, and after looking at the robot's idiocy, finally came to the conclusion that GiB doubles on supposed points, rather than tricks. It does not do the simulation that it is so famous for, but rather relies on me (with a hand that passed directly over 1♥) to have 12 points for my 4♠ call. I believe that this is a consistent bug in GiB, and almost pulled to 5♠ myself due to lack of trust, something that I would never do with a human partner. Free
North went coocoo with the Double, he doesn't have a single trick and if for some reason he thought it was takeout, it can't be: V vs NV with 2 passed hands...

I am not sure this is the kind of example Fred is looking for wrt fixing GIB's bidding, but you can try. Arend
