2C, assuming it shows both mayor,

I think I will bid 2S spades over

a 2H heart preference bid, to show

the freak distribution.

If 2C shows only spades, I would go with

1S followed by 2 or 3H.

With kind regards

Marlowe

PS: I will end up in 4H since I am lazy,

but if, as a partnerof the MQ bidder,

I have an option to invite,

and this cant be 3H or 4H since those

bids can be passed, I will do that.

Personally, I think you have had a reasonable auction to a decent contract, and if you are posting this because 6 went down due to spade K offside, bad heart break, bad spade break, etc., you are simply second guessing yourself.

That said, I think 3H is an underbid. (1C)-2C-(p)-4H is more appropriate, imo. And I dont know that I would take another call after this, but if I did, it would go

4S-5D-5H-?. Holding 4 good trumps, and Qx of spades, I could not fault partner for bidding 6H at this point, even if it went down.

On your actual auction, why 4C over 3H instead of 3S? (The 4C bid should deny 1st round spade control) and when you continue with 4S over 4D, partner is probably expecting a holding like:

KJ10xxx KQJxx x A

You have cuebid twice here on what are known to be "weakish" trumps (partner is holding the A and the 10), he is entitled to expect better values in your hand.

1 followed by would not be a crime IMHO with such uneven suits.

My auction:

(1) 1 - 2NT (okay only Txxx but what else appeals?)

3 - 4

5 (XRKC) - 5NT (2 with Trump Q)

6 (excellent contract)

Didn't see it in the list, but I overcall 1 planning on bidding hearts a few times later. I don't like michaels with intermediate hands... must be either weak (this one is not) or strong (this one is not). Seems just right for the 1 and then bash in heartss.

After 2 with north, I am n ot bidding 3, I will either bid 2NT explore what partner has or jump to 4.

I'm not that keen on Michaels with 7-5. I would start with 1. I would start similarly to Gerben something like

1 2NT

3 4

5 (cue) 6 (enormous with Q, Aces etc)

I also think Michaels should be a continuum in range. It's much better to show your shape in one bid.
