hrothgar
Hand 1: I'm going to pass - Its more likely that partner's hand can produce 4 tricks on Defense than 11 on Offense. Hand 2: a. No. The hand isn't quite strong enough for a "good" Michaels bid. b. I'm going to double. I initially decided to treat this hand as a strong Michaels and will not follow through with that plan. Free
Hand 1: pass. If he has info double, partner should bid 4NT... Hand 2: Dbl. And yes I agree with 2H because you have a really strong hand, just 4 losers and a 6-5. Normally 2S should mean invitational in H (if I remember correctly), Dbl should be understood as optional. inquiry
MPs, green vs red1)voidQTxx987xxTxxx (2S) P (4S) X(P) ? Unlike most here, I like to play 4-SPADES-X as takeout. Also 4NT would be takeout as well, but two suited. So over double, with no tricks and a void, I am bidding. My club suit is so weak, I will bid 4NT and if partner bids 5C, I will bid 5D to give partner a choice between the red suits. 2) MPs, all vulAKT984voidKJQJ9xx (1H) 2H (2S) P(4H) ? a) Do you agree with 2H Michaels No. :) You ask the meaning of 2S, but rho says she isn't sure. Your call? 4 SPADES - it is only matchpoints.

Pass is suicidal! 2)a) YesB) Dbl, showing a strong hand willing to bid further. Even if I don't find the 6-2 spade fit, this is the best description of my hand. Partner can pass with something like [xx K10xx Qxxx xx].

flytoox
1. 4s seems serious as they are vul. Still, I think i will pass. 2. a) not much. i prefer to overcall 1s then bid c. if i dont have anything in d or dk is changed to ck, i will bid mike cue, but not with this hand. B) 4s, telling pd u have 6 of them.
the hog
On the first board. We play X as takeout, but pd passed! This ended up ok, as I heldAQxxAxxxxvoidAKJx I don't like the pass either. We make 5H but they go for a min of 500 On board 2, your left hand opponent holds JxxxxAQxQxxxx he meant his S bid as natural!! 4H makes 11 tricks. If you bid 4S as I did and some of you did, you need to hold this to 2 off. If you play a S to the Q and they defend correctly, forcing you in H, you are going for 800. Defenders made a slight slip in the play and I was able to get out for 5s for a good board.
