melviss666
This is so simple. Experts & World Class do not ban kibitzers or require their permission to kib, lol. Every time I stroll thru the main club I mark those black who ban or require permission. I've wound up with less & less fools at my table or been conned into a lousy team game. :P) And speaking of kibitzers, I have another new thread, please look. Elianna
This I think that I would disagree with you about. If an expert or World Class person is playing with a client, they may wish to shelter said client from having to be watched by 50+ people. Or if they are charging for lessons, why should they let people join their table for free?
melviss666
I'm a certified teacher myself, wasn't even talking about your considerations. So, yes, teaching, preparing for a match, playing with shy client, those were, of course, exceptions to the original post, surely U knew that? So, as I said in the beginning, Experts & World Class DO NOT ban kibitzers. This sinking in yet?
JohnnyH7
I'm a certified teacher myself, wasn't even talking about your considerations. So, yes, teaching, preparing for a match, playing with shy client, those were, of course, exceptions to the original post, surely U knew that? So, as I said in the beginning, Experts & World Class DO NOT ban kibitzers. This sinking in yet? You are a teacher and yet you expect people to read your minds when you make ignorant blanket statements? You said: Experts & World Class do not ban kibitzers or require their permission to kib, lol. If you except those experts and world class playing with students, why not say so? Why would Elianna's examples be "exceptions of course" if you didn't say so? How would you know that an expert or world class is playing with a shy student if you just ban them upon seeing that they require permisson for kibitzers? I'm sure the answer will be so obvious that I should have figured it out without you saying anything. What about experts that are tired and just want to goof around with some friends without a bunch of kibitzers? What about experts that are playing with friends and like to use the occasional cuss word and thus must bar kibs or someone will complain? What about experts who are just a little insecure, perhaps they're married to an even better expert? What about experts that don't want to deal with people like you? Are these all obvious exceptions to your statement that should have been inferred? To think that you would make such a ridiculous statement, and then have the nerve to be so condescending to say So, as I said in the beginning, Experts & World Class DO NOT ban kibitzers. This sinking in yet? to a nice person like Elianna because she dared to make valid arguments in coherent sentences is amazing to me. I hope that sinks in, but sadly I know it won't. jillybean
This sinking in yet? Yes it sank, along with your manners.
melviss666
Thanx jillybean2. As for Johnnywhoever U R, U failed to get the point as well & R surely someone I'd mark black in a heartbeat if I knew your BBO username. Mine is the same at both, so, feel free yourself. Elianna is a nice person, which has nothing to do with U.
mr1303
There are times when I've joined a table, whereby kibitzers required permission or were disallowed (without my knowledge usually, when I've clicked on "take me to a game"). After a while, the host leaves, and I take over as host. Of course, the settings remain the same (because I haven't noticed). I would suggest that automatically blacklisting anyone who requests permission to kibitz is a bit heavy-handed. Incentally, you're always welcome (as is everyone else for that matter) to kibitz at my table.
sceptic
This sinking in yet? there was no need for that
melviss666
Thank You, mr1303, that has happened to me in the past as well, but I no longer go to tables where permission is required & NEVER went where kibitzers were banned. With BBO being so huge, was just looking for some innovative ways to help sift thru the chaff, lol. Other than the fact that I will not ask anyone's permission to kib even if I do consider them good players, this could be just another thread about self-ratings, oh well. matmat
it really is too bad that individual kibitzers can't be banned from a table. I know what the first such name at my table would be.
inquiry
This thread is degenerating into personal attacks. As you all know, such post are not in general allowed. A few post have been deleted, and if this continues this thread will have to be locked. Please play within the bounds of a polite society. It is ok to disagree without attacking each other personally. Thank you. Ben
cphastrup
This is so simple. Experts & World Class do not ban kibitzers or require their permission to kib, lol. Every time I stroll thru the main club I mark those black who ban or require permission. I've wound up with less & less fools at my table or been conned into a lousy team game. :P) And speaking of kibitzers, I have another new thread, please look. This is also so simple: Whenever you play with or against a player that you do not feel is truely and expert or a world class player, you right-click that player, select "edit notes for xxxx", and write "Not really expert"/"Don't play with this dude"/"Interpretes RKC1430 somewhat different than I do"/phrase of your choice. Additionally, you could mark this person as enemy. Or you could choose the opposite: Mark the ones that you like playing with as friends and edit the notes of each, so it states which system, carding etc. he/she prefers. Doing it your way, it is still not sinking in how you avoid blacklisting people that have their good reasons to not permit kibitzers. babalu1997
Some people ban kibitzers because they come to communicate with their friends over chat programs. The WC player who comes to goof around with friends could make the tb invisible. Babalu
