Pass. 4 is for juniors and other bridge players who enjoy taking a jump from 10 meters (32.808 feet) without knowing if there is water in the pool. I am not saying that 4 would never work out in real life, but it's anti-percentage to venture.

:) Pass. Your hand is way too light in terms of high cards and playing strength to bid here, and the diamond queen is a BIG warning sign. Consider that a hand with more playing strength but the same high card strength would be an easy 4.

This was posted in the hope more B&I’s would respond but its good to see even some of the BBO experts can get the bidding right :)

 

There is a little twist, its not so much to do with Easts bid but the opening bid.

A year ago I didn’t have had a clue what to do with Norths hand and would have opened 1D, 5D or passed and tried to get in on the bidding later.

Thanks to the regular forum readers and their answers to all the questions in this thread I now know what to do when I pick up one of these hands and I can bid it with confidence....the result 4S-6 :)

 

yeah and before you say it, I should get my partner to subscribe to forums ..
