Online vs real-life play

Recommended Posts

I supposed taking notes while some one is playing doesn't really pass this 'sniff test'.

But as long as it doesn't slow down play I don't have a big problem with it.

Since this is the B/I forum, why would you do this if you're trying to get better?

I don't know if people take notes during the play, but I'd find it quite silly. Not because it's cheating, but because they won't get any better by doing so. The game is a lot more fun when you can count the hand without taking notes, and when you can make a good decision because of your own counting skills.

Heh. I've seen people taking notes (about the bidding, as it happens) in f2f play. Either way, it's illegal. (Footnote to Law 40: "A player is not entitled, during the auction and play periods, to any aids to his memory, calculation or technique.")
