1C - p - 1H - p

2H - p - 4C

Can you base your answers on SAYC and 2/1 stating the differences please

Questions all revolve around the 4 Club bid and what ifs etc

1/. what would 3C show instead of 4C

2/. Does 4C show a splinter in C

2A/. is there any way to show a splinter in pards opening suit and is there any point as you are the one evaluating that particular feature

3/. what does 4C show as opposed to 3C

4/. if you have a game try relay available in your system, does this change the meaning of 3C bid and 4C bids and what can it show with some sort of partnership agreements

1. Up to partnership agreement, I prefer non-forcing gametry.

2. Up to partnership agreement, I prefer splinter.

2A. Sure there is a point! I don't know what you mean by "you are the one evaluating that feature". When you show the shortness, partnerr will be able to evaluate.

3. Isn't this the same question as before, just phrased differently?

4. Entirely up to partnership agreement, can be anything you want.

Playing 2/1 or SAYC the splinter is more attractive than playing, e.g. Acol where 1 shows 4+. In Acol, I would normally play 4 as a cuebid slam try.

I also agree that 3 should be a natural game try. Whether it is forcing or not is up to partnership agreement. Without discussion, I would assume forcing. (You can always back into 3.)
