badderzboy
Partner opens 1♦ and RHO overcalls 2♣. You hold [hv=d=n&v=n&s=sqxxhakjxxxdaqxxc]133|100|Scoring: MP[/hv] What do u bid and why? Do u try for a ♥ fit? If u do would you try for a ♥ fit at IMPS/Teams? How do u intend to proceed over a minimum response in ♦s or ♥ support? Thanks Steve
Free
2♥, wtp? Over a minimum response in ♦, I'll jump in ♣. Over a minimum response in ♥, I'll start cuebids, and perhaps still end up in 6♦.
Echognome
If 3♥ is a FJ and is forcing, I bid that. I want p's input on this one. I will bid 4♣ next if I can. If LHO bids 5♣ and partner doubles, I'll be kicking myself if I bid 2♥ this round.
Codo
3 ♥ is nice, else 2 ♥.If they bid 5 Club and pds doubles, I jump to 6 Diamond, no problem
whereagles
2♥. If it comes round to me in 5♣, then 6♦.
Blofeld
I want to bid 3♥. If that's not available, 2♥ (assuming that's forcing) looks ok.
badderzboy
OK thx all no one fancied showing their diamond support and club void first... Me neither lol [hv=d=n&v=n&s=sakxhqxdkj10xxxxcx]133|100|Scoring: MPPartner held this hand[/hv] How do u now get to 7♦ or 7♥? Steve
Blofeld
Well what does LHO bid? Can't imagine them stopping at the 2-level with a 12-card fit.

Echo said if 3♥ was a forcing fit jump (as it should be) showing hearts and diamonds, he would bid that. That insulates you from the ♣ barrage that is surely coming, and it gives opener enough info to consider using blackwood or cue-bidding spades. Either of which will get the ball rolling... exactly how to continue after 1D-(2C)-3H-5© is still up in the air, however.

Echognome
Wow. I was lucky only to face a 2♣ overcall. What was I going to bid over 5♣?
luis
I bid 5♣ exclusion RKCB directly over 2♣The reason is that I need to get information quick because they might be in 5♣ soon and the best thing I can do to show a strong hand with a club void and diamond support is to bid 5♣ now, if pd shows 2 keycards I will bid 7, if he shows 1 I will bid 6.Having the trump queen in hand is nice. The problem bidding hearts is that it will be impossible to say I have diamond support and a club void and a heart suit in this auction so I choose to show 2 of the 3 features. I think that showing diamondfit + club void is better than showing diamondfit + heart suit here. At least you will know inmediately if you can play 6 or 7 when pd answers the exclusion RKCB.
