1eyedjack
I expect it is something to do with me, but I note that table host (in main playing area) can prohibit kibbitzers from chatting with players. I understand the merits of that. However there is possibly a compromise facility that might be of benefit: to enable public chat to the table (whilst barring private chat to individual players). If that facility is already available then forget this post. But I was kibber at the table on which the host had set prohibit kibbitzers chat with players, and when I tried to send a message to "the table" (ie not to an individual player) it would only send the message to other kibbitzers. I can envisage occasions when the table host would be happy to allow chat from kibbitzers provided that such chat is visible to all players, whilst possibly disallowing private chat from kibbitzers to a specific player. In practice (as a player) I am unlikely to take advantage of such a facility, although as kibbitzer I may well be affected if the table host were to adopt a restrictive policy under the existing software constraints that might be less restrictive if the software offered the choice. Just a thought.
