paulg
I find Scott Adams's Dilbert Blog a lot more interesting that I thought I would. Nothing to do with Dilbert but Adams does raise some interesting issues and enjoys asking provocative questions. For example, is there a correlation between intelligence/education and belief in religion? [Not for discussion in this thread] Paul
Badmonster
I like Chef Culluchio's (sp) blog on the top chef website.
Guest Jlall
deleted. 1) No intentionally offensive post. 2) They're asking for non bridge blogs.
pbleighton
Another vote for Juan Cole's blog. He is a professor of Middle Eastern history at the University of Michigan. His blog concerns the Middle East, focused on what is actually going on in mostly in Iraq, and to some extent Iran and other surrounding countries. He is fluent in Arabic and Farsi (the language of Iran), and he really knows his stuff. Peter

Guest Jlall
Deleted by Rain. I'll be sorry to see you leave BBF, but we don't allow intentionally offensive posts here. More freedom/leeway allowed in the off topic forum, but the principle remains. To clarify: Your post may not be offensive. It contains a URL. But if the URL links to somewhere that we (BBO/BBF) consider offensive, it will not be allowed.
luke warm
To clarify: Your post may not be offensive. It contains a URL. But if the URL links to somewhere that we consider offensive, it will not be allowed. i know that paragraph is meant to clarify (it says so), but for further clarification who is the "we" it speaks of? we're all (bbf posters) offended by something, i'm pretty sure, even some urls that weren't deleted when i'm offended i typically just ignore whatever offended me... i guess others can't or won't do that
aaronh
To clarify further: The post need not be offensive. The URL in the post need not be offensive. But if the URL links to something offensive, then the post is deleted. So I take it, then, that the moderators not only check every URL, but follow every link from every URL to check for offensive content? This must keep them very busy. helene_t
No, you misunderstood. A URL is something like "www.someorg.org/somedoc" What the URL links to is (whatever is written on) www.someorg.org/somedoc Of course they don't check what's linked from whatver the URL links to. kfgauss
No, you misunderstood. A URL is something like "www.someorg.org/somedoc" What the URL links to is (whatever is written on) www.someorg.org/somedoc Of course they don't check what's linked from whatver the URL links to. The unfortunate point here is that the website that was linked to was a non-offensive non-bridge blog, but it linked to, among many other things, a website apparently considered offensive by BBO/BBF (admittedly, by the same author and at the same domain name). Al_U_Card
Last year it was a "blast". This year probably more so. These guys make Steve-o and the twits from MTV look like pikers. Mark Sudduth has been devoted to this pursuit for years and it shows. Always visceral and fascinating as well as informative. http://www.hurricanetrack.com/
