awm Posted April 24, 2006 Report Share Posted April 24, 2006 Depends on the opponents' methods. In most cases I prefer the mainstream view of "two places to play." However, against opponents who frequently open random 8-9 hcp hands, I think 2NT natural has a lot going for it. This auction is then a lot more like 2♠-P-P to me. Hey, I can be mainstream if I want :) Next time we have a BBO pool, instead of bidding my own way, I'll try and guess what people are going to bid and bid that.
