Codo
You play a team Match against well known opponents, which are as good (or bad) as you are. As West you hold:[hv=d=n&v=n&s=sjt95ht9732d7ck92]133|100|Scoring: IMP[/hv] The bidding proceed withNorth East South West1 ♦ pass 1 ♥ 2 ♠pass 4 ♠ 6 ♦ passpass If you don´t agree with the first pass or the 4 Spade bid, comments are welcomed. But now, what to do? Bid 6 Spade, pass or double?BTW there is no special definiton for the double, Pds pass just denied the wish for a Heart lead and his 2 Spade bid was a weak two. whereagles
It's a bidder's game, so I'll try 6♠ now. The real problem will come if they bid 7♦!
Finch
Double is insane. I wouldn't save, but obviously it could be right.Declarer has clearly made a guess, and I don't like being on the side that makes the last guess. They could be making anything from 10 to 13 tricks in diamonds. Also, depending a bit on our style of weak two, 6Sx is unlikely to be better than -800 if their slam is making, so if it's only 50/50 whether it's making I should pass. (By the way, the auction appears to be set up so that we made the weak jump, not partner.)
